The Missouri School of Journalism invites applications for a position in magazine journalism. This person must have experience as a practicing magazine professional in print and online journalism and have the potential to incorporate new ideas and technologies into all facets of the magazine program. This job will include teaching newsroom-based courses at the undergraduate and master’s level in print and online magazine journalism as well as overseeing and managing the publication of Vox Magazine (an award-winning city magazine, published at the School) and enhancing its print, Web, tablet and mobile components.

The 12-month, non-tenure track appointment, which begins August 1, 2013, will be at the rank of assistant professional practice professor. The position offers regular opportunities for contract renewal and promotion.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years magazine industry experience. A master’s degree is preferred, but not required.
