Nielsen Entertainment, a division of The Nielsen Company, has been working with record labels, motion picture studios, video game and book publishers and retailers for 15 years.  Nielsen Entertainment portfolio includes consumer purchase and consumption measurement, as well as consumer panel and profiling capabilities.

 

Nielsen Entertainment is looking for a Director of Business Development & Client Solutions, based in New York or Los Angeles, to develop new business with brands and agencies.  The right candidate will have a proven and successful track record to strategic and consultative selling.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Source and capture new revenue opportunities with brands and agencies
• Build awareness and interest in Nielsen Entertainment’s portfolio, with specific focus on Music
• Maintain a strong pipeline and actively manage opportunities throughout the entire sales process, leveraging the appropriate subject matter experts as needed to help close a sale
• Understand and communicate a prospective client’s requirements, business needs, and expectations to the internal team that supports the sales pursuit (SVP, Operations, Analytics, Finance, Legal, etc.)
• Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume

Skills

• 5+ years of experience with consultative selling/business development
• Deep understanding of the connection between brand marketing and entertainment preferred
• Proactive and tenacious sales approach
• Ability to translate client business needs into creative and technical solutions
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment – willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Superb (and passionate!) communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Strong team orientation; ability to lead and influence others in a cross-functional environment
• Ability to travel, as needed
