Nielsen Entertainment, a division of The Nielsen Company, has been working with entertainment distributors, retailers and rentailers for 15 years. Our clients and partners include major studios, video game publishers, music distributors, book publishers, as well as major retailers, indie distributors, financial services firms, research firms and entertainment trade associations. Nielsen Entertainment’s primary services include retail point-of-sale (POS) measurement, consumer panel services, and consumer segmentation and profiling.

Nielsen Entertainment - Music is looking for a Director of Client Development, based in New York or Los Angeles, to develop relationships with both endemic and non-endemic music clients and offer them creative solutions to their business issues.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Driving and growing revenue through consultative sales and new growth opportunities
• Offering creative solutions to clients and potential clients using Nielsen’s complete suite of tools
• Building relationships with clients and offering a more consultative approach to selling
• Identifying client business problems and suggesting/pursuing the appropriate solutions based on client needs
• Maintain international opportunities and hit revenue targets as assigned
• Working closely with the developers of the new music products and taking these products to market, both in the non-traditional world (agencies, marketing firms, legal firms, etc.) and the current clients

Skills

• Contacts within Music industry; at least 5 years of direct experience
• Understanding of needs and changes within various aspects of the music industry
• Degree in related field
• Ability to interface with clients at C suite level
• Comfort with cold calling and prospecting
• Client service oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
• Proven experience collaborating with a wide range of internal and external clients 
• Client focused; experience in managing and developing client relationships
• Strong communication and presentation skills – ability to write proposals and make presentations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven success in client development / sales
• Team player
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing industry
• Knowledge and ease of use with social media
