Social Media Manager
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Economist Group is looking to hire a social media manager to join a commercial unit that helps our advertising clients hone their content and messages. This operation is separate from the Economist and Economist Intelligence Unit editorial teams. The project manager will serve as a full-time contract employee for a period of nine months. The position requires 1-3 years of experience working in online marketing, journalism, digital media, or PR The social media manager will work in the Economist Group offices in New York.QUALIFICATIONSSkills and responsibilities:Work with the editorial team to define and execute social media strategyDemonstrate a deep understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Tumblr, etcManage 24/7 presence in social networking sites, including Facebook and other similar community sites, and build followers for a new Twitter handle.Spearhead a blogger and influencer outreach program to maximize reach.Measure and report daily on social media efforts--and learn quickly from what works and what doesn’t.Stay up-to-date on social media industry trends, emerging social media programs/platforms and report on best practices.Work with the editorial team to ensure that all content is social media friendly and optimized for the social web..Demonstrate a familiarity with ROI, digital analytics and social media monitoring toolsDemonstrate a passion for crafting witty, engaging, thought-provoking stories....in 140 characters or less.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONPlease respond via the link.
