Job Description

The Economist Group is looking to hire an art director to join a commercial unit that helps our advertising clients hone their content and messages. The art director will serve as a full-time contract employee for a period of nine months. The art director will work in the Economist Group offices in New York.

Skills and responsibilities:

Put a creative stamp on a global content marketing program involving several pieces of original and repurposed content each week.
Collaborate with our global editorial and sales teams across multiple time zones.
Demonstrate an ability to develop and create content that is “snackable” (i.e. optimized for sharing) in the form of static infographics, data visualizations, slideshows, dynamic data displays, videos, animations and motion graphics.
Source, recruit and manage junior and freelance team members as necessary.
Demonstrate the ability to track and manage multiple multimedia projects to meet tight deadlines.
Manage interactions with client stakeholders for weekly updates, keeping them informed and helping to make sure creative content meets the client's marketing goals.
Contribute to editorial brainstorms and help to create creative concepts.
Design new project workflows and systems as needed.
Demonstrate a familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc.) and the ability to create compelling content designed to be shared across these platforms.
