In this role you will lead the team responsible for managing and influencing the monetization activities for our field sales team that generates hundreds of millions of dollars annually. The Pricing Analyst will be located in the San Francisco, California office of Yahoo! and will handle pricing and inventory exceptions for the Channel Management team within PYM. This team provides analytical and operational support and works directly with our Sales organization to balance the yield management goals of the Company with customer level buying activities. This includes evaluating proposals as they are being developed by the Sales teams, working with Sales to structure upfront media buys, proactively identifying yield upside opportunities, and communicating price and monetization trends into the Sales region. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in quantitative analysis and/or decision making preferably in an operational role. The candidate will demonstrate a blend of business and technical skills and a successful track-record of working cross functionally. They should enjoy working with groups across the organization and be able to balance big picture thinking with and detailed analysis. This is a highly-visible role interfacing extensively with Sales Leadership, Sales Operations and our Marketplaces group. Job requirements include:Education: BS/BA with a focus on Economics, Statistics, Business, Operations Research or related quantitative discipline; MBA/MS is desirable.Experience: 1-3 years professional experience in areas related to quantitative analysis; prior experience at online media companies is a plusSolid business sense: Previous experience in business consulting, with particular emphasis on quantitative modeling, is a strong plus. Prior work with sales is also preferable.Technical: Proficiency in Excel and other analysis tools such as Access, SQL, Ad Metrics, is a critical requirement for success on the jobExcellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must as is the ability to handle competing priorities. The ability to present results of complex analyses clearly and to interface with cross-functional teams at all levels of seniority is a critical to success in this role.
