The Role
Bloomberg's Media Content Syndication business, a growing area and of strategic importance to the future of Bloomberg, is seeking a media sales account representative to join their North America team. This team sells Bloomberg media content (Bloomberg Terminal, news, photos, video clips and data) to newspapers, magazines, websites, broadcasters and other media outlets throughout North America. The position is based in New York and the successful candidate will be joining a truly international team and organization.

-Account management of territories covering our existing North America client base, assisting clients with the Bloomberg terminal, news, video and photo feeds and other Bloomberg services.
-Generating new business through identifying new accounts and opportunities as well as following up on leads provided from supporting teams and events
-Liaising with other teams within Bloomberg, such as terminal sales (who sell to Bloomberg's financial clients), News, Web, TV, the Contracts department, the Accounts department and other Bloomberg departments
-Preparing accurate and timely sales reports and statistics
-Building strong relationships and working closely with the worldwide Bloomberg Media Content Syndication team

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
-4+ years recent and relevant experience in account management or sales
-Experience of working within a media company is preferred, ideally in a content licensing role
-Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint
-An interest in the financial markets is essential
-The desire and flexibility to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent communication and negotiating as well as problem solving skills
-A self-starter with great multitasking and organizational skills with a particular focus on customer-service.
-Willingness to travel 20-25% of time
-Fluency in French beneficial
