Westchester Magazine is seeking a highly-motivated, highly-skilled new or recent college grad to join its editorial team as a digital editor. Under the direction of the managing editor (this is a junior/entry-level position), the digital editor will be responsible for web and social media content and operations for Westchester Magazine and its three ancillary publications. Primary responsibilities include:•pitching, reporting, and writing original content for the website, and scheduling, editing, and trafficking other web exclusives •monitoring the websites for quality control—correcting links, typos, formatting errors, removing out-of-date content•maintaining the magazines’ online resource guides—writing new listings and updating existing listings as needed•managing the magazines’ social media accounts •editing, trafficking, and contributing to the magazines' blogs and e-newsletters•writing intro and display copy for the websites’ landing pages•implementing SEO practices for all digital contentRequirements: •an impeccable command of the English language—proper mechanics, grammar, and syntax should be second nature•solid digital writing and editing skills and experience, and a sharp eye for proofreading and catching mistakes•excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to be a team player while still working autonomously•high proficiency in SEO tactics, HTML, and use of CMS•social media savvy, with the skills and understanding necessary to successfully engage an upscale, sophisticated audience and grow an online following•thorough knowledge of and familiarity with Westchester CountyAs this is a junior/entry-level position, new and recent college grads possessing the required skill sets are strongly encouraged to apply.
