Smithsonian Publishing seeks an Interactive Ad Operations Coordinator for its New York location, near Grand Central. This position is responsible for contributing independently and collaboratively to the pre and post campaign responsibilities including campaign implementation and ongoing campaign management as well as sales and marketing activities of a growing online publishing group.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to, the following:

*Traffics interactive advertising campaigns in DFP (DART For Publishers) ad server and ensures deployment accuracy; works with responsible parties to troubleshoot creative issues and performs regular campaign reporting.
*Acts as day to day liaison with interactive advertising agencies/clients for successful and on time campaign implementation, reporting, and billing.
*Proactively monitors and optimizes campaign delivery including reporting of delivery issues to the appropriate person and recommending an appropriate solution.
*Works with internal finance/revenue teams on client billing and online insertion orders.
*Assists in the refinement and management of existing process forms, including online insertion orders, campaign delivery reports and inventory management schedule. Creates new internal workflow forms and reports where needed.
*Supports the advertising sales and marketing initiatives, including but not limited to creating advertising proposals, sales collateral and digital media kit.
*Gathers data on potential products, advertising clients and competitors. Performs competitive analysis across like websites and reports on notable features and advertisers.
*Acts as lead on specific web marketing initiatives (museum day, Ingenuity Awards). Works with relevant team members to execute on a timely basis.
*Assists in the monitoring, generation and analysis of site traffic reports, trends and helps ensure implementation of outbound advertising and audience development initiatives.

*This position also offers an opportunity for graphically inclined individuals to contribute to the creation and deployment of house banners, advertising and website updates.


Bachelors degree from a four year college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, New Media Communications, Advertising and/or related discipline. Experience with multi-media platforms and new media a plus.

*Fluency in DART DFP ad trafficking system required.
*Fluent in basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
*Familiarity with Doubleclick and Google Analytics ad trafficking systems preferred.
*Knowledge of comScore.
*Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, FLASH and PHOTOSHOP is ideal.
*Skilled in communicating orally and in writing.
*Firm understanding of online culture and best practices as well as an interest in translating traditional media programs to the online space.
*Passionate and knowledgeable about online and emerging media, as well as the role of advertising.
*Ability to handle several projects at once under deadline pressure is essential.
*Individual must be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, have effective time management skills and be able to multi-task in a very fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Salary: 37k – 50K annually, depending on experience.
