Responsibilities:

  • Generate advertising revenues in accordance with specific sales goals within The Wall Street Journal Franchise
  • Clients include industry leaders in the energy, telecom, national retail, commercial aviation, and financial/wealth management categories
  • Sales territory for this role includes clients and/or ad agencies based in Dallas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Houston

-         Products within The Journal franchise responsible for driving revenue for include: newspaper (US + Global editions), WSJ.com, video and mobile platforms (including WSJ and WSJ Live iPad apps), global in-language sites/mobile apps, WSJ magazine and conferences

  • Develop potential new advertisers while maintaining/growing assigned account list
  • Coordinate and execute the preparation, documentation, and presentation of sales proposals
  • Accurately report on revenue booked and projected to management

-         Build strong relationships with clients at all levels; Build trust and loyalty with agency contacts, marketing executives and C-level executives to retain and expand business

-         Develop strong relationships with internal resources including but not restricted to split partners in other markets, Strategy, Marketing, Yield, etc.  to achieve sales goals

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; major in Marketing/Advertising/Communications is highly preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years advertising sales experience with both print and digital products is necessary
  • Experience in managing high level accounts
  • Prior advertising agency experience is a plus
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong one on one and group presentations skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard third party research (ABC, MMR, ComScore, Starch, etc.)

-         Ability to stay informed and up to date on industry trends, the competition and changing technology to better understand sales opportunities

-         This role requires travel within the assigned territory
