Weinstein Books, a joint venture between The Weinstein Company (the renowned film studio) and The Perseus Books Group (an award-winning publishing house and book distributor), specializes in a range of nonfiction - celebrity/personality-driven books, film tie-ins, narrative nonfiction - as well as select commercial and literary fiction.
We are seeking a strong Publicity Manager/ Director with broad-based media, publicity, and marketing skills to publicize books, work with high-profile authors and personalities, coordinate events, interact with authors, agents, and editors, and contribute to brand development.

•Responsible for implementing and executing dynamic, compelling publicity plans for titles each season through media campaigns, industry, and author events
•Create press releases, pitch letters, promotional materials and media lists with the goal of securing national, regional, and local media in print, broadcast, and select online outlets
•Orchestrate and coordinate publicity events – including media appearances, book tours, local author appearances, and client meetings
•Orchestrate and oversee tours, pre-pub buzz tours, media lunches, and author appearances
•Work with editorial, sales and online marketing contacts to create a cohesive publicity effort for each title
•Strengthen and develop media and bookstore contacts in addition to maintaining relationships with authors
•Communicate with clients and authors and work in tandem with outside publicity/marketing/media teams
•Coordinate press for all events
•Assist in brand development for Weinstein Books (with media and industry contacts)
•Create innovative and individualized marketing strategies
•Oversee increased web presence and enhanced digital marketing strategy across all social media platforms
•5-8 years of publicity experience
•Must have extensive national / regional broadcast and print media contact, plus a well-rounded knowledge of trade book publishing (both agencies and in-house)
•Effective communication skills (oral & written) for interactions with media, authors, and in-house constituencies
•Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
•Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through
•Must be highly organized and attentive to detail, with project management skills and proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
•Self-motivated, hands-on, with the ability to work well independently as well as in collaborative / team environments
•Strong personal commitment to ground-breaking media, film and book projects that offer fresh insight and inspire debate and discussion
