The Analytics Manager will work with the Research and Analytics team to develop and apply advanced statistical and predictive analytics techniques to improve EBI MAP-Works’ projects and products. This includes the development, building, improving, and testing of modeling approaches, practices and procedures.





Major Responsibilities:

· Works with Analytics and Research Team and business stakeholders to determine and evaluate analytical opportunities related to EBI MAP-Works’ products

· Develops, builds, and tests applied analytical techniques, models, and processes using solid methodology and appropriate statistical methods

· Develops and tests demonstration data for EBI MAP-Works’ products

· Develops and distributes research reports, presentations, and other materials related to research methodology and analytics



Required Skills / Knowledge:

Advanced understanding of research methods and predictive analytics – descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, predictive analytics, data mining, data management and structures, and data interpretation
Advanced knowledge of higher education data – standard data definitions, student learning and development theories, retention strategies, and the organization and activities of colleges and universities
Applied analytic modeling skills – ability to identify and evaluate analytical opportunities, develop and test models, and routinize and implement models and processes to support analytical efforts
Outstanding interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills – (1) ability to translate analytic, statistics and research methodology into non-technical language, (2) ability to adapt communications to match audience’s level of expertise, experience, role, need, field, and interest, and (3) ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations in person and on-line to large audiences
Project and time-management skills – ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining outstanding service and meeting deadlines
Ability to think strategically, anticipate the needs of various departments, and provide research and analytics to support those needs
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to develop and implement analytical projects
Advanced skills with data analysis tools (such as SPSS, Excel, and Tableau) as well as query, reporting, and programming skills such as SQL and R Script
Solid understanding of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Ability to travel to conferences or campuses as needed



Experience Needed:

3+ years of full-time experience working in higher education in a student/academic success or service role
Experience with predictive analytics related to student success or higher education outcomes



Educational Background Required:

Master’s Degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Education, or equivalent required
Significant coursework in research, statistical, and predictive analytics required
