The research manager is responsible for developing and conducting research to answer practical questions in support of key EBI MAP-Works’ departments, including Product Development, Marketing, Business Development, and Client Services.

Major Responsibilities:

· Works with Analytics and Research Team and business stakeholders to translate strategic company goals into compelling research projects

· Develops applied research projects using solid methodology and appropriate statistical methods

· Gathers, synthesizes and analyzes data related to a range of EBI MAP-Works’ products

· Interprets results and develops written materials to summarize findings and communicate the value of EBI MAP-Works’ projects

· Conducts engaging presentations and webinars

Required Skills / Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of research methods and data management – quantitative and qualitative methods, descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, data structures, results interpretation, research ethics, and research documentation
Advanced skills with data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Excel, Tableau), including programming ability
Advanced knowledge of higher education – standard data definitions, student learning and development theories, assessment methods, retention strategies, and the organization and activities of colleges and universities
Applied research skills – ability to translate practical questions into research projects, develop the methodology to conduct the research and analyze the data, and provide results that answer the questions
Outstanding interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills – (1) ability to translate statistics and research methodology into non-technical language, (2) ability to adapt communications to match audience’s level of expertise, experience, role, need, field, and interest, and (3) ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations in person and on-line to large audiences
Project and time-management skills – ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining outstanding service and meeting deadlines
Ability to think strategically, anticipate the needs of various departments, and provide research and information to support those needs
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to develop and conduct research projects
Solid understanding of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Ability to travel to conferences or campuses as needed

Experience Needed:

3+ years of full-time experience working at college or university in a professional administrative role
Experience with higher education assessment of student learning or program evaluation
Experience with EBI MAP-Works’ products strongly preferred

Educational Background Required:

Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or equivalent required

Significant coursework in research and statistical analysis strongly preferred
