Palgrave Macmillan is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Marketing Assistant to join our friendly, creative and hardworking team. Reporting to the Head of Academic Marketing, your role will involve providing marketing and administrative support to the global marketing team. It is a fast-paced position that requires juggling multiple tasks and priorities on a daily basis.



Major Responsibilities:

Assisting with the implementation of marketing campaigns including direct mail and email, advertising, conferences and online promotions
Liaison with authors, customers and key publishing partners
Processing requests for review, desk and examination copies
Providing administrative support to the Marketing Department
Entry and maintenance of author and customer information on our database
Occasional attendance at conferences and events

Required Skills / Knowledge:

Outstanding organisational skills, a systematic approach to work and the ability to prioritise effectively
First rate communication skills (written and verbal)
The ability to establish, develop, and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
Experience of using MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Ability to travel

Experience Needed:

Office experience essential, previous publishing experience and familiarity with academia are desirable

Educational Background Required:

BA or equivalent
