Our sales director will be leading a strong and successful team of account executives serving business-to-business advertisers with a mix of print ads, digital placements, lead generation, custom content and event sponsorships designed to build brand presence among our audience of smart and savvy investment leaders. Job Responsibilities:
• Revenue responsibility for revenue generating products such as print, online, mobile, event sponsorship, custom, lead generation, etc.
• Operational responsibility for a 7 person sales department
• Drive and lead strategic development and growth for sales team
• Develop marketing and sales tools with marketing department to best equip the sales team
• Provide direction and strategic vision that strengthens brand messaging and align with business goals and objectives
• Lead, manage and mentor sales and administrative team
• Develop sales goals, objectives and strategies; actively contribute on-going input for new revenue generating products and programs
• Active engagement in entire sales process: sales calls, brainstorming, proposal development, etc.
• P&L responsibility and provide analysis of sales, pricing, promotional expenses, and product development costs
• Key member of the Crain’s leadership team
• Position reports into Publisher

Qualifications:
• Successful sales management experience contributing to the significant growth of a business is essential; b-to-b brand experience preferred
• Requires a hands-on, lead by example sales manager with excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proven track record of sales & marketing success with integrated media packages, minimum 7-10 years’ experience
• Must be collaborative and open minded
• Must be able to multi-task
• Passion for media and financial/investment news
• Works easily across departments and actively seeks new ideas
• Solid knowledge of emerging new media strategies
• Minimum of five years in sales management/leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
