The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and publishing projects. Main activities include:

•Meet and pitch projects to high-level directors and executive managers, with a view to identifying their organization’s communications needs, and creating and offering viable solutions.
•Seek sponsors for publications and other LID products.
•Make sales of existing LID publications/products by tailoring them according to the client’s needs.
•Make sales of speakers to organizations and conference organizers.
•Network extensively and build relationships in order to succeed in this role.


•At least 3 years of experience in one of these areas: business development for a publisher or for a professional services firm; advertising sales; sponsorship generation; account management for a corporate communications or branding agency; relationship/wealth management for a bank; or similar areas.
•BA or BS
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
•Creative thinker.
•Self-motivated and able to work independently.
•Strong organizational skills and excellent research abilities.
•Skilled with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
•Entrepreneurial spirit
•Interest in and follower of business trends/issues.
