McMurry/TMG, the national content marketing leader, seeks an onsite copy editor with at least six (6) years’ experience copyediting digital content for its long-tenured, award-winning staff. The successful candidate must be a meticulous, fast, well-rounded editorial professional and will be based in our Washington, D.C., headquarters.

The position’s duties include reviewing digital content for grammar, style, tone and factual accuracy, and providing markup via either digital tracking and/or CMS versioning.

A successful candidate will be well-versed in grammatical, editorial, digital content and typographic conventions; be conversant with major style guides such as AP, Chicago and AMA; and be a demonstrably skilled collaborator with managing editors, project managers, writers, copywriters and clients.

Candidates must have an extraordinary ability to juggle numerous websites in a wide range of subject matter; excellent research and analytical skills; self-mastery, focus, accuracy and a methodical working style; and technological aptitude. The ability to perform editorial proofreading, substantive editing and production/design proofreading is a strong plus.
