We are looking for an Editorial Director that drives the strategic editorial development and ensures the quality and timeliness of print and digital products. Specifically, the Editorial Director will:

•Drive audience acquisition and retention by meeting the needs of the reader through the effective solicitation and selection of content for the publication and related digital properties.
•Lead in the development of new editorial products.
•Ensure that the company remains on the cutting edge of the digital delivery of content
•Become the social media voice of the company and regularly interact with readers
•Drive social media interactions (Twitter followers, Facebook Likes…).
•Ensure the quality of related sales and marketing materials
•Identify and solicit original research from top experts in managed care, and assess the editorial quality and relevance of submitted papers
•Build and maintain a solid presence for journals in both industry and mainstream media, through press releases, industry contacts, and digital strategies
•Maintain a 6-month editorial well of content for each journal
•Edit all manuscripts for accuracy and style
•Maintain a robust and well-regarded editorial board and peer review panel
•Lead and manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business environment
•Shepherd submitted manuscripts through the peer review and editorial processes, ensuring that reviewers conduct assessments in a timely manner
•Represent the journals at meetings and conferences
•Perform TV video interviews,

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:

•At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, public health, or a related field
•10+ years of experience in medical publishing, with experience as lead editor
•Superb organizational and project management skills, and the ability to create and manage a budget
•Strong knowledge and willingness to stay on cutting edge of digital content delivery
•Proven success soliciting manuscripts and making editorial decisions
•Excellent writing and oral presentation skills, and good editorial judgment
•Supervisory experience
•Willingness to travel
•Familiarity with healthcare issues overall
•Commitment to further the development of new knowledge through the production and building of a peer-reviewed professional journal
