Position Overview Comedy Central Programming and Multi-Platform Strategy is seeking a talented Writer for our CC:Stand-Up team who can compose concise, descriptive video copy for the content on our digital platforms, and sharp, on-brand updates on our social accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr). The Writer will be part of the Content and Programming team responsible for the CC:Stand-Up and other Comedy Central stand-up series' websites (The Half Hour, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, Mash Up, etc). The ideal candidate will combine deep love for and knowledge of stand-up comedy, strong writing and communication skills and a keen instinct for seeding out video content and stand-up news across social media. He or she will work closely with internal teams including Video Production, Fan Engagement, Home Entertainment and Press. He or she must meet daily deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to work autonomously. Job Description• Write descriptive copy (titles, descriptions, tags, etc) for all video content on the various CC:Stand-Up site pages• Work closely with the CC:Stand-Up producer and production team to strategize on site programming and social media strategy • Post updates to the CC:Stand-Up social accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr)• Compose site copy for auxiliary CC:Stand-Up properties on the web and mobile Requirements• Fan of stand-up comedy, knowledgeable about the current stand-up scene• Fan of Comedy Central• Professional web site content writing experience• Ability to write quickly and efficiently• Detail-oriented, flexible, cooperative, able to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects• Basic knowledge of HTML and content management systems • Basic knowledge of social media schedulers like HootSuite• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Experience producing graphics for the web (is a bonus)• Available to work 35 hours per week in house Submit cover letter, resume, a list of your five favorite stand-up comedians, and a writing sample.Submit cover letter, resume, a list of your five favorite stand-up comedians, and a writing sample.
