Hachette Book Group seeks to fill the position of DIRECTOR OF ANALYTICS. Candidates should be seasoned professionals with a background in data analytics and/or finance, who can help develop and grow our business by analyzing sales trends & recommending new sales initiatives. A background in retail product sales analytics & metrics a significant plus.

•Work closely with all Sales teams to establish & maintain analytics programs, reports and research.
•Work closely with teams outside Sales Demand Planning, Advertising, Marketing & Finance.
•Manage a small team of data analysts
•Create targeted research that exposes trends and methods to exploit new opportunities and maximize sales efficiency.
•Generate regular reporting and analysis tools that help forecast market conditions and realize unseen potential risks/rewards..
•Reporting – respond to requests and proactively create financial reporting
•Focus on both front list and back list sales growth thru defined metrics of data analysis

•Candidates must be personable and outgoing and be willing to work with a wide variety of people throughout HBG and key accounts.
•Candidate must have excellent analytics skills, particularly data analysis and financial analysis
•Solid financial skills are essential with the ability to compute data, build reports, and explain reports to the lay person
•Strong communication skills are essential (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings
•Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
•Must have proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work and demonstrate exceptional follow up and follow through
•Drives change and innovation by improving work product or process, and challenges established norms where appropriate
•Proven ability to build supportive and constructive relationships within and outside of the organization;
•Excellent organizational skills are required, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through close attention to detail
