We’re looking for dynamic, energetic, and enthusiastic people who love telling people about great design and architecture to join our rapidly growing team.

As Managing Editor, you will lead a content team and be responsible for the overall quality and quantity of published material. You will lead a team of talented writers and curators to develop and implement content strategies that expand Architizer’s audience, deliver traffic growth and increase engagement.

To succeed at this role, you’ll need proven experience managing people and projects. You’re a great manager, you thrive in fast-paced environments and you can quickly engage with topics and pitch new ideas.

The ideal candidate is a resourceful manager and able multi-tasker who is self-driven, adaptable, and excited about architecture and design. Previous experience writing and editing for online publications is essential.

- Able to manage a diverse team of inhouse and freelance contributors
- Knowledgeable about design - architectural knowledge a plus
- Curious, diligent, responsible, and resourceful
- Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Visual, with a great eye for striking images
- Team player with an ability to thrive in a scrappy startup environment

Main Responsibilities
- Oversee publication schedule by managing and coordinating deliverables from content development team, contributors, and social media team
- Establish and manage international network of contributors through proactive outreach
- Supply content and manage relationships with existing content partners: Huffington Post, Cool Hunting, The Creators Project, WSJ Magazine, Atlantic Cities & more.
- Expand affiliate network through proactive outreach
- Pitch ideas to sponsors, media partners and other stakeholders
- Work closely with management and sales teams on strategic growth initiatives
- Responsible for monthly analyses of site traffic; provide and mobilize team to implement results-oriented solutions
- Manage the content budget

Requirements
- 3-5 years experience with digital publishing
- Proven people and organizational management skills
- Command of grammar, spelling, design and current affairs
- Budget preparation and fiscal management
- Able to work onsite in NYC Monday-Friday
