Job Summary:

The Contracts Assistant will assist the Director and two Associate Directors of Business Affairs and provide support to the Business Affairs department. The job includes working in a fast-paced, busy, and dynamic office.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Prepare initial drafts of foreign publishing agreements based on our boilerplate agreement and do an initial line-by-line review of those contracts prepared by foreign sub-agents
-Tracking the progress of contracts from initial request until they are fully executed
-Maintain and continually update domestic and foreign contracts database
-Distribute domestic and foreign status charts on a weekly basis
-Assist in the preparation of Agency and Collaboration Agreements
-Respond to contract status inquiries from agents and assistants
-Perform general administrative duties, such as, answering phones, scheduling meetings, organizing files, etc.

-Bachelor’s degree
-Strong organization skills and a willingness to work to get the job gets done
-Experience with legal terminology and contracts and/or paralegal experience a PLUS
-Excellent people and communication skills
-METICULOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL with the ability to multi-task
-Extremely professional and articulate
-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
