Identifies and converts sales opportunities for assigned online products, generates market information for potential advertisers/sponsors, contributes the buyer’s decision-making process and prepares reports as requested. While performing the essential functions of the position the Sales Representative has extensive contact with customers, manufacturers, vendors and other industry contacts and specialists. This position has regular contact with the Publishers, other sales and editorial staff.


oGenerates a minimum of 40 outbound calls a day, with a minimum of 4 pre-set phone appointments on an ongoing basis
oSell advertising space within assigned online/digital media offerings
These include newsletter sponsorships, directory listing enhancements, and online display advertising and sponsorships
oDevelops lists of new prospects for assigned products
oIdentifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned products
oGenerates market information, especially on the opportunity for our potential advertisers/sponsors
oGenerates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face-to-face meetings at industry events
oMaintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling. Prepares summary activity reports detailing account contacts, product, competitive and market information via Salesforce database
oPerforms other duties as assigned by Publisher/Product Manager

oCollege degree, minimum 1 year sales experience in an online ad sales environment a plus
oUnderstands issues relevant to the organizations/groups market and industry
oListens to and understands internal/external customers and supplier expectations, needs and wants.
oAnticipates and responds to potential opportunities and threats for the business relevant to the conditions of the market and industry
oExperience with digital marketing including knowledge of CTR, CPM, CPC and other basic digital media metrics
