This is a competitive internship with a dynamic New York publishing company, NewBay Media LLC. This post is ideal for a graduate student or recent grad and will provide on-the-job experience, one-on-one social media mentorship, worthy work assignments, and a vital portfolio of professional writing. This is an unpaid internship. INTERNSHIP DETAILSTypical job duties will include:• Covering daily breaking news and products in the professional AV communications and installation industry; editing and posting content to AVNetwork.com.• Posting to social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn• Blogging on AVNetwork.com• Conceiving and planning strategies to cultivate our social media presenceINTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS• Intern must be interested in AV and entertainment technology, the business of technology, and its intersection with society. We focus on projectors, interactive technology, theater tech, architectural audio, surround sound, digital cinema, music playback trends, internet radio trends, videoconferencing… anything AV-related.• Strong writing capabilities• Copy edit, proofread, and polish stories adhering to the NewBay Media Style Guide• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS)• Familiarity with basic image editing software, Microsoft Word, Google Analytics• A high degree of professionalism and courtesy in all manners of communication. Strong project management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Must have access to a laptop or desktop, and phone. (Computer and phone are not provided)• We expect interns to adhere to the policies and work schedule of our company, just as every other NewBay Media employee• Intern can work from home or school • We require a one semester commitment• Intern may be required to required to work from NewBay offices on certain days, but may also work from home or schoolNo phone calls please.
