Position Description: Assistant Project Editor to schedule and coordinate the development of books from manuscript to production.

Duties:
•Create production schedules for individual book titles and track progress
•Serve as point person for edit and production teams
•Communicate clearly and effectively with designers, editors, freelancers, and production staff
•Organize materials for freelance copy editors and designers and coordinate freelance work
•Input edit corrections
•Check against past versions for accuracy
•Check bluelines
•Send out comp copies
•Maintain and archive files
•Ensure that files ship on time
•Juggle multiple tasks in a tight timeframe
•Perform additional duties as needed

Requirements:
Undergraduate degree, preferably in journalism or related field, plus 1 or more years of relevant experience. Knowledge of InDesign required. Individual must have strong organizational and communication skills and be able to manage several projects at once.
