The Advertising Business Development team at Pandora is responsible for monetizing all unsold ad inventory as well as creating additional indirect revenue opportunities. The small team has revenue responsibility in the tens of millions per year with a focus on mobile monetization.

Job Description:

  • Work collaboratively within the Advertising Business Development team to drive new monetization initiatives and revenue channel demand sources

  • You should have deep knowledge and experience within the mobile space

  • Work collaboratively with account management team to constantly grow existing partnerships by driving yield and develop strategies and solutions to open up new streams of revenue with these existing partners

  • Manage the entire process for developing entirely new revenue generating channels which includes financial modeling of the opportunity, working with the product and engineering teams to develop project plan, prospecting of partners to fill this new channel, negotiating to close contracts, and implementing new partnerships

  • Work cross functionally within Pandora to understand partnership impact on our products and services, and get internal buy-in for new initiatives

  • Serve as an advocate for the advertising business development business and its partners at Pandora

  • Constantly identify new areas of opportunity within existing placements and products

  • Understand full scope of Pandora’s business including direct ad sales, inventory trends, and existing ad products

  • Understand how mobile monetization fits into larger business strategy

  • Proactively brainstorm and build business cases for new initiatives, while working collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment

  • Be a role model for Pandora’s company culture

  • Be a student of new mobile technology solutions


Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree, MBA a plus

  • 5+ years’ experience including 3-5 years of related business development in online or mobile advertising

  • Experience in digital media, mobile apps or publishers, ad network or exchanges, trading desks, SSP's and/or related start-ups is strongly preferred

  • Passion for and deep understanding of mobile monetization ecosystem and industry trends

  • Strong knowledge of performance advertising and yield optimization

  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively, think both strategically and creatively, and understand complex, nuanced technology platforms including Pandora systems and products

  • 3-5 years experience in successful contract negotiation is a must

  • Demonstrated ability in effectively coordinating and driving strategic initiatives across a large organization (both internally and externally) to achieve key deliverables

  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills

  • 5+ years excel experience with demonstrated ability to model revenue opportunities
