The Producer will plan and coordinate the complete range of activities involved in the production of news and current affairs program segments. He/she will work closely with the editorial team at all stages of the production process from story development through post-production. Responsibilities and tasks will include, but are not limited to, overseeing the researching and pitching of stories, the development of storylines and the identifying of locations and characters; the producing and directing of shoots and the conducting of interviews, working with on-camera talent as required, writing scripts; and supervising the editing and delivery of segments. The Producer may also produce program segments as required and assigned. In addition, he/she will liaise, as necessary, with various other departments, including publicity, production services, finance and legal. To qualify, candidates must have a BS or BA, or equivalent work experience along with four (4) years experience in television production, at least two of which will have been spent producing daily or weekly current affairs segments and/or programs. Preferred candidates have the ability to shoot and edit digital video (Final Cut Pro). In addition, candidates should have exceptional research skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills, exceptional ability to write for video and the ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines and to problem-solve when difficulties arise.
