We are currently seeking an Advertising Sales Manager - a product expert and champion – who will be responsible for driving direct sales for MarketWatch in partnership with the Global WSJ Digital Sales force.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the “Go-to” person for the WSJ Ad Sales team providing the most up to date knowledge on the MarketWatch brand, audience, and all available opportunities.
  • Internal promotion of MarketWatch (jointly with the entire MarketWatch sales and sales development teams.)
  • Partner with WSJDN Sales Director and MW General Manager on sales strategy and pipeline management.
  • Participate in sales calls with WSJ Digital Sales teams.
  • Oversee the flow of information across internal teams, including MarketWatch editorial and product teams, sales development, Yield, as well as coordination with cross franchise teams like Journal Reports, SAS, Smart Money, etc., to ensure we shape and create the most compelling advertising programs for clients
  • Partner with WSJ Digital Sales teams to ensure the MarketWatch is put forth in the best light to clients and external client meetings, and help in handling any client objections
  • Special focus on driving non-endemic revenue to the MarketWatch brand
  • Ideation and responses for RFPs (jointly with sales development)
  • Training and ‘on-boarding’ of new MarketWatch team members. 
 
Position requirements:
  • 3- 5 years digital ad sales experience
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with team members across multiple departments
  • Knowledge of the advertising/marketing space
  • Bachelor’s degree required
