The Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies of New York University is seeking an individual to provide support to participants from the technical and business segments of the School. This position will work with internal Web Communications and IT departments as well as with external vendors in the design, development, and support of in-house developed, externally developed and purchased software web applications. The individual will utilize advanced problem-solving skills to understand web-related questions and resolve technical and design issues related to the web.


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Design and Development,or a related field and 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination in front-end web technologies, primarily CSS/HTML (in particular CSS3/HTML5), Javascript/“jQuery”, AJAX. The successful candidate is required to have experience with QA, UAT, usability analysis, cross-browser issues, troubleshooting, documentation skills and MS Office Suite, Windows, Mac OS. Must have expert understanding of CSS inheritance and interdependencies and familiarity with JavaScript/“ jQuery” libraries. Must also have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, along with professional development of web-based technical and design solutions, and have the ability to communication effectively with individuals at all levels and use problem solving and negotiating skills. Experience with Java as well as knowledge with how the front-end impacts and works with back-end systems and experience with Adobe CQ and optimizing for mobile are preferred.
