Have you created and managed editorial content that moved people to action? Have you built a content strategy that not only engaged an audience but also converted them to customers? CREDO is looking for someone with amazing writing and editorial talent and substantial experience to take us to the next level in defining the voice of our feisty brand across media. This is an opportunity to play a leadership role in crafting the brand story of a fast-paced company that sits at the intersection of progressive political activism and commerce.

The role requires demonstrable editorial leadership, the conviction to drive work forward quickly and the ability to inspire those around you. You should be comfortable both directing and executing at all levels, from formulating a measurable plan for testing an inventive message-driven marketing package, to crafting a persuasive brand story for an email, to developing short-form, politically-oriented engagement content for Facebook or Twitter. You should excel in a campaign-driven environment with tight deadlines and a commitment to measurable, data-driven goals. You must have strong desire to innovate and enhance our platform to drive progressive change. This position reports to the Creative Director.

Specifics

Create and manage written content that meets our marketing and political goals
Ability to multi-task on projects, ideas, concepts and tasks under tight timelines
Plan, write, edit and proof content for a range of channels including websites, direct mail, email, and social media
Digitally adept; strong command of technology and how it can be utilized to extend our brand through social media as well as a strong curiosity about how the engagement between brands and consumers is evolving
Develop, mentor and champion the editorial team
Set and manage the editorial processes throughout the organization
Interact with internal clients on a regular basis and ensure all expectations are being met
Manage a small team of copy writers and copy editors

Requirements

Minimum of 8-10 years experience in editorial content management, web/email publishing, marketing copy development
Must be exceptionally organized, self motivated, deadline-oriented and highly effective at both written and verbal communication
Fluency in online progressive media and activism outlets
Analytical, quantitative experience in testing, measuring and optimizing the impact of content for user engagement and conversion
Multi-platform (online, email, mobile) experience
