Your tasks
Random House Inc. seeks an outstanding Product Manager to join the Digital and Marketplace Development team. This position requires close interaction with multiple business, technology and services teams. This is an opportunity to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment ? where all bring their talents and knowledge to the table. The PM reports directly to the head of the Design and Development team, works with the team at large, as well as external clients on digital product development.

?Ability to drive product planning, development, launch and product adoption
?Translate Product/Business Owner requirements to technical requirements; communicate technical requirements to Design and Development Leads
?Ability to take a balanced approach to solving problems by taking into consideration both business and technical opportunities and constraints; a strategic thinker who enjoys finding creative solutions to problems
?The PM will be responsible to ensure the successful technical delivery of assigned products. The PM must strive to meet or beat owner needs and requirements, and remain in balance with evolving business strategies and standards
?Proactively identify opportunities and make actionable recommendations to drive product uptake and effectiveness
?Work well within a cross-functional department of business leads, designers, and engineers to ensure that products are delivered on schedule, with solid results
?Manage the complete design, build, test, and release process or assigned products
?Be able to extract insight from competitive analysis; identify and share digital best practices, emerging design, functionality, and technology trends
?Analyze product performance on an ongoing basis; recommend solutions as issues arise
?Champion the best user-centered design, but also be comfortable releasing and iterating
?Can balance/negotiate tradeoffs between Business and Engineering
?Coordinate/Write product documentation (ensure thoroughness and usability)

Our requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities of the ideal candidate.

?3-5 years of product-management experience; prior experience in publishing a plus
?Strong track record of launching successful web products both large and small; experience with information architecture and data driven sites strongly desired
?Exceptional ability to define and communicate functional requirements
?Superior attention to deadlines and deliverables
?Ability to synthesize different points of view and present them as a unified plan
?Terrific troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
?Excellent written and oral communication skills
?Experience in both agile and waterfall
?Knowledge of analytics tools and user-testing methodology
