The manager of public relations is a principal public relations representative for Hearst Magazines who oversees and executes trade and consumer press for a group of magazine brands. This professional serves as a communications strategist and recommends and implements coordinated communications strategies, in addition to providing key support for the other Hearst magazine properties.
Daily duties involve working with respective editors and publishers of magazines in the Hearst Men's Group to produce effective communications strategies to benefit their titles and to position their magazines strategically to the press as well as anticipating and preparing for responses to potentially controversial issues. The position will focus on pitching monthly editorial content and brand initiatives to broadcast, print and online press and thereby heightening the profile of these magazines; developing and cultivating press relationships; collaborating with outside public relations consultants as needed; and writing press releases on corporate announcements, sensitive issues, press briefing material and communications pieces.
Perfection in English. Well organized and must understand social media. Great communicator. Attention to detail is mandatory.
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism of Communication with at least 3+ years Public Relations and/or Agency experience. Must possess a proven and successful track record regarding establishing communications strategy and placements with the media.
