Location: Washington D.C. preferred but can be done virtually from another US location.

Do you want to apply your knowledge of international affairs to an exciting new online and print initiative focused on Russia?

We are looking for a creative, detail oriented and digitally-savvy freelance editor who wants to play a leading role in the launch of an exciting new product. The guest editor will source, curate and edit content for a new sponsored online channel that will concentrate on US-Russia relations. The microsite will be prominently featured on the website of an influential market-leading thought leader publication. The editor will also copy edit periodic white papers that will be delivered to leading stakeholders in US-Russia affairs across the country.

Specific duties include:

General
Cultivating experts to contribute articles/op-eds to the project
Monitoring RBTH for material suitable for the new microsite
Brainstorming with Moscow-based editors on topics appropriate for the channel.


Online:
Copyediting material for the microsite

Updating the site with new material at least once a day,

Creating a weekly newsletter for opt-in subscribers

Maintaining a Facebook group or page and a Twitter account dedicated to the project

Soliciting and engaging online commentators, encouraging online discussion both on the microsite and through social media

Print:
Copyediting material for in-depth white papers and reports consisting of 7-9 page monthly analytical memos and 20-30 page quarterly research reports.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Russian history, International relations, political science, or similar area.
At least two years work experience, preferably in a think tank or educational institution
