Open Road Media is seeking a full-time Digital Marketing Associate to support our romance and narrative nonfiction titles.

Responsibilities include:
•Assisting on, crafting, and executing ongoing marketing plans that include promotional placement, social media, advertising campaigns, and publicity elements
•Generating publicity by sending review copies, press releases, and other materials to appropriate media/bloggers as well as building and maintaining outreach lists
•Writing copy for press releases, advertisements, retailers, blog posts, and other outreach
•Day-to-day management of our Retro Reads program, a reader review program specializing in digital reissues of classic romance (duties include reader communication, content creation, review tracking and reporting, social media promotion and monitoring)
•Producing, along with the Marketing Manager, our monthly romance e-newsletter
•Engaging with and contributing to the voice of Open Road and our authors on social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, LibraryThing, and Shelf Awareness
•Working directly with authors, estates, partners, vendors, and freelancers to obtain and deliver marketing and publicity content as needed
•Aggregating media hits and promotional placement for marketing reports
•Working with the interactive producer and marketing team on department initiatives

Skills required:
•Two to three years experience in the publishing field, preferably in marketing, advertising/promotions, or publicity
•Online experience or an equivalent facility with new media and social networking
•Strong research and writing background
•Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred

Open Road Integrated Media’s marketing team bridges the traditional world of book marketing with the dynamic, fast-paced world of digital media. We leverage the worlds of social media, viral distribution and emerging technologies to market Open Road and its publishing partners' ebooks and syndicate Open Road's premium marketing content.

The department oversees marketing, advertising, promotions, and publicity, as well as technology integration across all authors and titles. Department responsibilities range from directly interacting with authors and conducting archival research to developing engaging marketing materials and finding online portals for video content to reach current and potential readers, to building and filling sections of the ORIM website with relevant content while focusing holistically on authors as brands.
