This position will provide an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant/Associate Marketing Manager to learn and assist with strategic initiatives and day-to-day marketing activities for retaining PEOPLE subscribers, while acquiring core direct marketing skills. The Assistant/Associate Marketing Manager will be part of a 5-person "Retention" team and will focus on modernizing PEOPLE's overall retention strategy, marketing new subscription products and fostering consumer engagement with those products. This individual will test, plan, execute and evaluate subscriber renewal and billing campaigns across online and offline channels for print and digital products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on modernizing PEOPLE's subscriber communications by driving transactions online, creating targeted messaging and segments, and optimizing existing marketing channels
- Grow circulation revenue by executing "upgrade" strategy designed to move existing subscribers into more robust subscription tiers providing more value, choice and higher brand engagement
- Support day-to-day renewal activities for all subscriber sources, including direct mail, inserts, online, and donor/gift
- Integrate new PEOPLE subscription products into customer invoices, while creating more tailored communications and a modern online experience that provides customers with intuitive payment options
- Contribute to and implement new marketing test ideas, as well as help set strategic direction
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Promotion and Operations/Fulfillment) to ensure integration of objectives, strategy and execution
- Analyze results, evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations for future programs
- Manage monthly reconciliations and annual marketing budget
