Editorial Product Lead

Our Los Alamitos, CA office is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Editorial Product Lead:


•Oversee and manage editorial development of magazine titles; including technical editing.
•Interact with editorial boards, serve as primary point of contact for EIC, providing training, management, and support for volunteers; attend volunteer meetings; consult with editorial board on editorial focus and coverage; actively participate in setting editorial calendars.
•Identify and define market needs for Editorial Services; acts as a staff resource and shares information with staff on new technologies and developing market trends.
•Works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run, and conclude projects.
•Regularly monitors, tracks, and reports on budgets associated with assigned product or process, and provides input into annual expense budget
•Develop new products and products based on existing IP; develop multimedia digital magazine editions.
•Develop and manage plans for title outreach and marketing.
•Coordinate product efforts across departments.
•Identify technical hot topics and trends.
•Recruit volunteers for online content: podcasts, blogs, audio, video, talks.
•Lead and coordinate social media marketing and networking activities.
•Develop and manage business and publishing models.
•Coordinate print and online promotions, ad words, landing pages, and draft and edit marketing copy.
•Plan webinars and recruit webinar speakers.
•Support digital magazine efforts.


•A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is needed.
•A Journalism or English degree is preferred.
•We require at least four years of Editorial experience and strong language and organizational skills.
•He or she must also possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with volunteers and vendors to enforce appropriate quality levels in editorial products.
•He or she must be able to edit, summarize, and rewrite technical prose without impairing technical content.
•Strong project management skills are also required.
•Knowledge of computer industry and terminology is desirable.
•Knowledge of audio or video editing is desirable.
•Marketing experience is also desirable.
•He or she must be able to handle multiple projects and be detail-oriented.
•He or she must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges.
•We require a strong facility with off-the-shelf word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail and database packages.
•He or she must be willing to travel as needed.
