CLINICAL ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND CURRICULUM COORDINATOR Center for Advanced Digital Applications (CADA) NYU SCHOOL OF CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Center for Advanced Digital Applications invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty member with administrative responsibilities, reporting to the Director of the Center. This is a full-time, nine-month, non-tenured, one-year renewable appointment with concurrent eleven-month administrative responsibilities. The rank of the position will depend upon qualifications and experience. This position will be available September 1, 2013.

Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development and revision reflective of changing industry trends, student advisement, industry outreach and supervision of adjunct faculty including recruitment, hiring, evaluation and professional development; and overseeing special industry projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will have the ability to develop innovative programs, provide leadership in rethinking modes of delivery, maintain strong professional ties to the media industries, and establish interdisciplinary collaborative ventures both within and outside academe.

Qualifications: Advanced degree in an art or media-related field and 5-7 years teaching and professional experience in digital design and production. The ideal candidate will have a successful record of teaching, and the ability to teach a variety of courses in the curriculum. Experience developing and teaching online courses is a plus. Prior experience in hiring and managing adjunct faculty and in evaluating teaching effectiveness is also preferable. Experience overseeing student advisement and related academic administrative responsibilities is highly relevant and desirable.
