External Affairs Associate
The Institute for Children, Poverty, and Homelessness (ICPH) seeks an external affairs associate to join a multi-member external affairs team. Primary responsibilities include: media relations (proactive and reactive); writing and editing (press releases, blogs, talking points, newsletters and other collateral materials); social media strategy and implementation; government and community relations; updating media database; assisting with marketing and advertising; maintaining external affairs archives (publications, media mentions, articles, videos); and assisting with other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Expectations:•Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications, journalism, or public relations•3 to 5 years experience preferably at a non-profit, in government, or media•Excellent writing and verbal skills and ability to adapt writing style to audience (ie. Blogs, marketing/advertising, speeches, etc.)•Ability to take direction and juggle multiple projects simultaneously•Keen attention to detail, well-organized, deadline-oriented•Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a mustCompensationStarting salary is commensurate with experience and salary history.
