We are seeking a Web Developer to join our dynamic Technical Services Department located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a one-year Project Position with Benefits.
The incumbent will be responsible for the creation, editing and publishing of Web pages for the Agency's Internet Web site as well as the Agency's intranet Web site ensuring the continual correctness, completeness, and timeliness of information on the sites. The position requires a combination of technical proficiencies, aesthetic sensibilities, organizational aptitude and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to learn and progress with the evolving technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This responsibilities listed apply to both the Internet, and the Intranet Web sites. For this position work will be done primarily for the Intranet Web Site. This individual must ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information. Specific tasks/responsibilities include:

* Consult with requestors to ensure comprehension of submissions and agreement of expectations
* Create and publish new Web pages
* Perform edits and publish changes to existing Web pages
* Design and produce graphics for new and existing Web pages
* Enforce quality control
* Troubleshoot and debug problems
* Provide technical assistance to all areas of the Technology Services Department as it relates to application support expertise

Specifically a number of HTML/CSS intensive initiatives with Graphics Production will be addressed by the incumbent in this position:

* Develop a Website for the Port Authority Public Safety Department
* Revamp and redesign an existing Enterprise Risk Management website
* Redesign and redevelop web site for Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals Department
* Create a new career website for Human Resources Department
* Enhance stockroom catalog site for Procurement Department
* Redesign and Redevelop Website for Management and Budget Department
* Assist with the upgrade of HTML code for all of the Intranet site.
* Assist with the deployment of Red Dot Content Management JOB REQUIREMENTS: ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree or Certification in Web Development, Web Design or related field from an accredited college or university.

Two years of professional work experience in a Web-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.


The ideal candidate wlll present the following qualifications profile:

* Knowledge of industry standards in Website development and cross-platform Web accessibility standards
* Knowledge and understanding of the various Web browser platforms and the variety and range of Web-related products and technology.
* Comprehensive knowledge of HTML4, CSS2, JavaScript/jQuery and the industry-standard Web development tool, Adobe Dreamweaver. Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 is a plus.
* Knowledge and experience in graphic production using software applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks is required, in addition to a working knowledge of vector-based software applications such as Adobe Illustrator.
* Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
* Knowledge and experience in working with PDF files and the Adobe Acrobat suite.
* Familiarity with social media is required.
* Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills, critical for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and staff.
* Planning, organizational and time management proficiencies.
* Writing and editing aptitude, and superior attention to detail.
