Social Media Editor
The Hollywood Reporter is seeking a Social Media Editor to create, implement and manage a comprehensive social strategy for Hollywood's premier entertainment news source and our reporters and writers. This individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining the editorial voice on all THR's social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook. Additionally, the person will be responsible for liaising with and developing relationships with other relevant social media representatives in the entertainment and news space. RESPONSIBILITIES-- Day-to-day content management for THR's social accounts on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Foursquare and Google+-- Attend industry and THR events, providing live coverage for social platforms. (THR's Women in Entertainment breakfast, the Los Angeles premiere of Downton Abbey, etc.)-- Daily maintenance for THR (TM)s social properties: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Foursquare, and Google+. Maintenance includes but is not limited to moderating comments, reviewing new followers/fans and communicating with THR groups when questions arise from one of those channels-- Targeted outreach to fan sites and bloggers to promote editorial content-- Attend editorial and product meetings to review current community growth campaigns and tactics as well as brainstorm new campaigns and tactics as needed-- Liaising with THR(TM) metric's analyst as needed to create ad hoc social reports-- Attend industry events and plan offline events to better connect and engage with the THR community-- Liaising as needed with THR business-side employees to coordinate social media strategy across all aspects of the organization.QUALIFICATIONS -- Extensive familiarity and understanding of current and developing social media platforms.-- Familiarity with all types of entertainment, particularly film, television, style and culture.-- Ability to develop and maintain a strong editorial voice in the online space-- Basic understanding of major web publishing softwareEXPERIENCE-- Minimum 3 years experience in the social media space, preferably with a daily, weekly, or major web publication or wire service with a focus on entertainment/pop culture.-- Undergraduate degree in English, journalism, marketing or a related field preferred.-- Knowledge of music/ pop culture, with additional contacts and awareness of music innovations and technology.-- Knowledge of basic html including the ability to embed multimedia and use social networking platforms.The above are minimum requirements.
