Product Engineering Manager

A journalism-driven multimedia company, The Chronicle of Higher Education
and The Chronicle of Philanthropy provide award-winning news coverage to
people on college campuses and to nonprofit organizations around the world.

We're looking for a Project Engineering Manager to lead a collaborative
team that brings together The Chronicle's journalists and technologists to
create an interactive and dynamic digital experience.

Our ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling and presenting
information to sophisticated audiences in a way that makes it a joy to
learn about news, ideas, and research that can change how our readers do
their jobs and think about the world.

You also know how to lead and inspire a project team to foster innovation.
You love to create fast, scalable code. You're flexible and open to
experimenting with new ways of working and you are exhilarated by the
fast-paced, deadline driven environment of a news organization.

As the leader of our Digital Studio team, you'll work on our showcase
editorial projects, from big data news apps to new tools and templates that
make our journalism more compelling and useful to readers. (You can see
what this group has already created at http://philanthropy.com/americagives
http://adjunct.chronicle.com/).

As product engineering manager, you'll bring your ideas, experience, and
leadership skills to help shape the future of our digital journalism and
expand the horizons of our staff members to help all of us improve reader
interaction with our Web sites.

If you're a product-driven team player, you will find plenty of
opportunities for professional growth here at The Chronicle.

-Work closely with our editorial staff to shape projects developed by the
studio.
-Develop tools and templates that will support our fast-paced, breaking news
environment and create sustainable, repeatable design implementations
