St. Martin’s Press seeks a dynamic, experienced Senior Publicist to join its non-fiction marketing team. Working together with a group of marketing, publicity and digital specialists, the Senior Publicist will develop multi-layered, integrated publicity campaigns including print, broadcast, online and social media for a wide range of general non-fiction books. Candidate should have strong media contacts, superior communication skills, strong knowledge of key digital outlets and social media tactics with a minimum of five years’ experience in adult trade publishing.
Major Responsibilities:
• Book print, broadcast (national and local) and online media
• Arrange Author Tours
• Author Management
• Create press materials
• Continually develop new media contacts across traditional and emerging media platforms
• Work with team to develop audiences around various non-fiction categories including newsletters, blogs, Facebook pages, communities etc.

Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Superior Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Vast knowledge of the media, digital platforms and key retailers/influencers with particular emphasis on major non-fiction categories
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Strong sense of how to convert publicity opportunities into audience acquisition opportunities and how to leverage social media for pre/post pub awareness

Experience Needed:
• 5 years book publicity experience

Educational Background Required:
• College degree
