Job Overview

The online editor creates, commissions and manages content overseeing a
number of contributors and liaising with the print editorial team to deliver editorial that fits the brand across a number of platforms. This is a role that requires identifying breaking stories, developing industry relationships, managing a diverse range of contributors, and helping to develop a strategy for the future growth of the website. It is suited to a dedicated self-starter who wants to work
as part of a close-knit team at an exciting start-up media company.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

•Set the daily agenda for the website’s content.
•Manage contributors, commissioning pieces of various types and editing copy
•Work with the in-house editorial and art teams to create content for the site, including the repackaging of previously published materials.
•Work with the marketing and advertising teams to manage certain client requirements.
•Represent brand at industry events.
•Build relationships with industry influencers.
•Create a strategy & work closely with marketing to drive traffic.
•Work with editorial staff to implement a strategy for video content.
•Conduct day-to-day management of the site’s in-house writers.
•Write copy for the site daily.
•Identify and recruit new contributors.

Essential Requirements:

•Experience of commissioning and long-term strategy building.
•Experience of web publishing content-management systems.
•Experience of working to daily deadlines
•Excellent organizational and planning skills
•Preferred Requirements
•Experience of managing staff.
•HTML coding skills.
•Experience of video production (filming and editing).
•Extensive industry contacts.
•Online & Print writing experience
•Copy editing
•News writing experience
