Viacom Media Product (VMP) is a digital product group servicing teams across the Viacom organization both domestic and internationally for over 700 digital properties in all. The Director of Digital Ad Platform Strategy within the VMP group will be responsible for working with ad operations, ad sales, brand teams and various other stakeholders to enhance the integration of our video and display ad serving vendors FreeWheel and DoubleClick. The Director will manage and evangelize the roadmap while working closely with an IT team to ensure delivery and trouble shooting.


Manage and improve the implementation of display and video ad serving to increase ROI.
Ensure that FreeWheel and DoubleClick are implemented as widely and optimally as possible across Viacom’s digital properties.
Manage and improve the implementation of DMP, DSP, and SSP.
Partner with end users and stakeholders to design business driven solutions that leverage Viacom and vendor technologies.
Work with site teams to ensure that they are aware and follow best practices for ad code integration and delivery.
Evaluate ad products and vendors available in the marketplace.
Groom and prioritize the product backlog with an appropriate balance between immediate and long-term needs.
Lead effective design sessions that culminate with technical requirements ready for development.
Effectively support the team during development cycles by proactively removing roadblocks that impact quality of service and on-time delivery.
Own the acceptance review process by providing signoff based on the assessment of unit tests, technical documentation, first round of review and final output.
Build and manage relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, including product owners, ad operations, ad sales, vendors and executives.
Work closely with Product and Business Development teams to identify key partnership/ad product opportunities and extensions and top inventory sources.
Educate end users on new and existing product features that are readily available for use.
Work with the VP of Ads and Reporting and all stakeholders to develop a strategic vision and roadmap for reporting product.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years of relevant work experience
Expert-level proficiency using, implementing, and administering DoubleClick or FreeWheel and other ad serving technologies
Deep understanding of the technologies of ad serving, across digital channels; desktop, mobile, tablet, apps, and connected devices
Prioritize and complete numerous projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Strong ability to write at both detailed and abstract levels
Proven experience in owning projects through to completion, from requirements gathering through rollout and training

Desired Qualifications:

Worked directly for an ad serving company, digital publisher or large digital media buying agency
Possess advanced knowledge of all digital media and digital media ad tech products and companies
Experienced in Agile development methodology
Extremely well spoken and able to present in front of large groups
Expert in documentation
Experienced working across large organizations
