Dow Jones currently has a multi-media advertising sales position within the News & Information publishing category available. The individual in this position is responsible for collaboratively selling integrated media programs to agencies and advertisers – online display, content sponsorships, video, social, mobile, custom programs, events, and more – to achieve marketing goals and sales quotas.

 

Duties include:


• Media Planner for Southwest region
• Partner with AE on strategic initiatives to achieve revenue targets across WSJ.com, MarketWatch.com, Barrons.com, AllThingsD.com, SmartMoney.com, WSJ Live, mobile and tablet products, video & syndicated partners
• Assist with Dow Jones event-based media and integrated print proposals
• Cultivate strong relationships with internal departments including Ad Operations, Yield & Inventory, Business Development, Research and Billing
• Coordinate & implement customized RFP responses.  Duties across sales and marketing include:
   o Develop campaign programs with AE, Marketing, Business Development and Management departments
   o Generate accounts & opportunities within SalesForce.com
   o Build media plans within client/agency excel templates & Dow Jones internal system: Operative 1
   o Facilitate pricing negotiations with Yield; manage creative mocks and new opportunities with Business Development (daily operation)
   o Collaborate with Dow Jones research department to gather syndicated research relevant to RFP and client objectives
   o Assist with and create client presentations across Travel, Consumer, Entertainment, Finance, Auto, Technology and DR categories
• Monitor campaign performance to optimize placements for best performance
• Facilitate campaign summaries for pre and post-sale initiatives
• Manage agency communication & further develop relationships
• Manage internal communication for approvals, new products, specifications, etc
• Generate leads & handle incoming customer inquiries concerning advertising rates, production requirements, acceptance and space availabilities
• Analyze the digital marketplace through trades and competitors; frequently present industry trends at weekly sales meetings
• Proactively prepare marketing and sales materials for clients and new leads
• Run revenue reports within Scoreboard (internal system)
• Active attendance on outside sales calls with AE
• Stay up to date with Dow Jones offering; serve as product expert & project manager for LA
• LA Sales Hierarchy: Vice President (1) ? Multi-Media Director (1) ? Account Executive (2 digital, 2 print) ? Sales Associate (2 digital, 1 print) ? Sales Coordinator (1 digital, 1 print)

 


Position Requirements:
 
• 2+ years experience in advertising sales support and/or internet advertising is required.
• Excellent communication (phone, email, face-to-face) & organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and strong work ethic
• College degree required
