Forbes Media Corporate Communications seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Editorial Publicity, reporting to the SVP of Corporate Communications

The Senior Manager will primarily be responsible for generating publicity for content posted on (developed by on-staff writers and contributors), working closely with the editorial departments and producers who oversee the contributor network. The Individual will also have a deep understanding of social media, will leverage social channels to promote Forbes editorial content, and will work closely with the sales and marketing departments to help develop paid social media programs for advertisers.
The right candidate will have strong relationships with consumer, business, online, entertainment, wire and broadcast press, have in-depth knowledge of social media, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, organized, and detailed-oriented, have an understanding of PR measurement tools, and be able to work on multiple ongoing projects under deadline.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Developing creative pitches and executing publicity efforts for content on, such as articles written by on-staff writers, lists, and packages, as well as content produced by contributors. Outreach will include consumer, online, wire, business, entertainment and broadcast outlets.
• Pitch Forbes editors and reporters to the press around specific areas of expertise and breaking news. Also publicize the Forbes brand.
• Handle all incoming requests for press interviews with writers and editors.

• Work with the Forbes Social team to promote Forbes editorial via social media platforms.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to help develop innovative paid social media programs for advertisers to drive incremental sales revenue for Forbes.
• Assist with the global media outreach for signature Forbes franchises, including The Forbes 400, World’s Billionaires, Most Powerful Women and the Celebrity 100.
• Develop press releases around select Forbes announcements, such as digital initiatives.
• Assist in managing, researching and developing key submissions and nominations for key editorial and trade awards.
• Assist in press release development, press outreach and events management for key Forbes conferences, such as the Forbes Women’s Summit and the Forbes 400 Philanthropy Summit
• Oversee departmental intern.

Performance Metrics:
• Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, including consumer, entertainment, TV, online, wire, and business press.

Skills and Experience:
• College degree required
• 3-6 years of experience in relevant position in Public Relations
• Strong relationships with consumer, trade, online, entertainment, business, wire and broadcast press
• Deep knowledge of social media
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask. Must be able to undertake multiple projects.

• Team player with strong attention to detail and good time management skills
