The Role
Bloomberg's core web product group is seeking an experienced visual designer to join our creative team and work to create a great experience across the Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com sites. This designer will work with our product managers and editorial staff to create the best possible site and feature visual experience. We are looking for a candidate with exciting new ideas who has proven their ability to be a creative force within an online digital environment.

-Responsible for the creation of all online visual design, including typography, visual concept and icon design for the Internet and interactive platforms for Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com
-Work with product, engineering, and editorial staff to create new features at a fast pace.
-Collaborate with other designers and team members for ideas and concepts
-Create design assets such as mockups/templates/prototypes/spec for business stakeholders this would include product, marketing and business development.
-Possess a fundamental technical background to be able to speak with development teams
-Capture, analyze and respond to client requirements

-4+ years recent/relevant experience as an online visual designer
-Good understanding of customer-focused design and usability principles.
-Results-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
-General knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
-Well versed in Adobe Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Flash)
-Have a good understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
-Strong interaction design and user centered understanding
-News and/or media experience designing for large content sites a big plus
-Ability to generate new design ideas on the fly and within a rapid iteration environment
-Ability to think critically about poorly defined problems and come up with original solutions
-Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
