Event Line Producer, Conference (5 months)
The Line Producer is primarily responsible for staging the event on time and within budget. S/he oversees the planning, coordination and implementation of resource development and financial management. S/he collaborates intensively with FoST’s directorial staff to translate top-level vision and creative imperatives into a seamless, multidimensional experience for 300+ guests. The Line Producer coordinates staff, materials, transportation, communications, and logistics. Successful candidates must be always 3–4 steps ahead of everyone else; highly organized and keenly observant; self-possessed; diplomatic; obsessively detail-oriented; and able to make consequential decisions on the fly.The Line Producer will be expected to:•Develop an overall event schedule that accounts for all aspects of operational logistics to ensure that the conference comes off without a hitch; •Develop a budget in consultation with director and staff, hirer freelancers, and work closely with that team to oversee the line production of all aspects of the event; •Coordinate lodging, transportation, facilities, catering, signage, displays, and all other event needs; and•Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to work at the conference.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS The line producer must have:•5 years of previous event-planning experience for conferences or other events•Excellent line production, operational, and problem-solving skills•Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both oral and written•Ability to develop and express vision and strategy Please include a cover letter with your resume.
