Prime Objective:

To provide executive level of support to the US Managing Editor in addition to providing office administration support to the wider editorial team.

Areas of Responsibility

•Administration including extensive diary co-ordination, organizing meetings and dinners, travel arrangements etc
•Assist in the US Managing Editor’s time management, taking a proactive approach to streamlining schedules, meetings and travel
•Typing confidential papers, correspondence, minutes and e-mails
•Assist in researching background material for speeches and/or articles
•Provide general administrative support; including answering the editorial hotline, gathering supplies for journalists and printing out the proof pages of next day’s paper
•File expense reports for the Managing Editor and other senior reporters
•Management of incoming and outgoing mail
•Ordering of office supplies
•Maintain holiday / weekend staffing calendar
•Ad hoc projects as required.

Personal Requirements

Experience:
3 to 5 years experience working for a senior executive

Skills:
-Proficiency of Word for Windows, Excel and Powerpoint
-Typing
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Proven ability to work with an extremely high level of confidentiality
