OPERA NEWS seeks enthusiastic, efficient, and detail-oriented editorial assistant. Reporting to the editor in chief, the editorial assistant will provide support in all phases of the publication process of a monthly magazine and its website.EA will have responsibility for the following:• Compiling and editing monthly performance listings• Compiling and editing three annual long-form performance listings• Reading and editing galleys• Some fact checking• Preparing and maintaining payments, forms, schedules, database records, transcriptions and contractsQualifications:BA or equivalent educational experience. Editorial experience and/or knowledge of classical music/opera desirable. Experience maintaining social media presence on behalf a company also desirable. Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of proficiency with technology; experience using a website content management system and/or QuarkExpress desirable.
